DOSECC's Winkie Drill System (WDS) is designed to drill small coreholes and collect core samples (1.06-inch/27 mm diameter) in remote areas or in places inaccessible by conventional drilling rigs. The rig weighs just 185 lbs and can be hand-carried to the drilling location. The system comes complete with all tools and materials included in a parts trailer. Purchased with funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation, it is available to the scientific community for sampling projects and field lab experiments, including field camps.
